Rebecca Rademeyer completed her BSc degree majoring in Zoology and Oceanography (distinction) at the University of Cape Town in 1999. This followed with a BSc (Hons) degree (first class) in Marine Biology (UCT, 2000). Her MSc thesis ``Assessment of and Management Procedures for the hake stocks off southern Africa`` was awarded the S2 A3 Bronze medal for the best MSc thesis at the University of Cape Town in 2003. She graduated in 2012 with a PhD in Applied Mathematics, entitled ``The evolution of Management Procedures for the South African hake resource in the 2000s''.
Rebecca has been involved developing stock assessment and management procedures for a variety of fish stock. Collaborating in research principally for the South African Department of Agriculture, Forestry and Fishery (hake), the U.S New England Fisheries Council (various groundfish), Fisheries and Ocean Canada (Greenland halibut, pollock, redfish) and the International Commission for the Conservation of Atlantic Tuna (bluefin tuna). She moved back to France in 2009 and has been working with MARAM remotely since.
